Lili's thought for the day

Why is my handbag always as heavy as a brick?

Because you're a woman? I imagine we xy people could be just as bad if we were socially allowed to carry handbags. If you have a place in which to put stuff, you _will_ fill it up with stuff. My wallet is pretty thick with nonsensical papers, and it hurts to sit on it. Maybe one of these days I'll clean it out.

Do you have a mini-calendar and a card with CPR instructions on it in your wallet?

No, I don't. I should probably try to get both of those.

The Semi-Sweety has all sorts of interesting stuff in her handbag, including her Girl Scout knife which gave you the vapors, the Smith and Wesson revolver I helped her to buy, emergency cosmetics for make-up repair, tissues for nose-blowing, etc., notebook and writing instruments, und so weiter. She keeps a _lot_ of stuff in that bag. It is heavy.

The bad thing about keeping all of yer stuff in one basket, or handbag, is that you can be easily separated from it in an emergency. I have tried to get that gal to carry her pistol on her person, but she does not attend.

It's what you have in your pockets which counts, methinks. I try not to go out without at least a pocketknife, a small flashlight, and a means of making fire in my pockets. I often fail at that, being as poor as I am.

Unlike the Semi-Sweety, I don't have a pistol carry permit. Being an XY person, I don't need one as much as she does. My piece stays by the bedside, against dire immediate emergencies.
